About us

Who We Are

UNC Chapel Hill’s premier aerospace engineering organization, and a subsidiary of Ram Engineering. We are innovators, makers, and engineers redefining what counts as flight at the undergraduate level.

Through hands-on design and low-level engineering, our members learn by building airframes, electronics, firmware, and propulsion. From first-year students to experienced builders, Skylab takes ideas off the drawing board and into the air.

Our culture

Engineering in Motion

At Carolina Skylab, we welcome aspiring engineers of every background who share one common trait: unabating dedication. Our culture values effort, curiosity, and persistence above credentials, creating a space where anyone willing to learn and build can contribute to something extraordinary.

Our engineers push the boundaries of design and innovation at the undergraduate level through bold experimentation and rigorous teamwork.
